Survivor Retreat (continued)

Team Spring

Team Summer

Team Winter

I am sorry about breaking up this post, but I don't have time to sit here and download everything at once.
Saturday of the retreat we woke-up and had a delicious breakfast! I ate too much and wanted more! Before breakfast, Josh spoke and did a wonderful job! We then had a mens class and a ladies class. Kim taught the ladies and Paul taught the men. Both did an outstanding job! I personally heard Kim's (of course) and Jared said that Paul's lesson was the best he had ever heard Paul do, and Paul doesn't do poor lessons! So thanks to them both! We then had our Bible scavenger hunt, followed by our team relays, and then lunch. Yummy food again! After lunch we played the Bible Match game and the Second Verse game. After that, Eddie Nagle spoke and did a fantastic job, too! Next was a scrumptious dinner and then clean-up, and then go home! For more specifics on the events see Train Up A Child, Paul's blog to the right. We had a very uplifting time! Can't wait til next year!

Sylvan Springs Church of Christ Survivor Retreat 2008

TEAM FALL

Once again, we had a fantastic time at the Survivor Retreat! Our theme this year came from II Timothy 4:7-" I have fought a good fight..." Everything we did centered around I & II Thessalonians, I & II Timothy, and Titus. Jared led singing and Josh gave us our first devotional on Friday night and did an excellent job! Then we drew teams and received our team names and buffs. Our teams were: Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter.

Fun in the Snow (final)

Ok, dial-up can be really frustrating at times! I have tried numerous times since last Thursday to post 4 measley pictures and something always messes up. Here is the last pic. It is of Pam and her snowman.

Fun in the Snow

Well, the retreat was cancelled because of the "big winter storm." Katie called, so Jared and I met Josh, Katie, and Hannah, and Casey at Chili's for dinner. Before we left for Chili's, Jared and I were talking to Pam and Joseph on the phone and Jared declares that they are spending the night. So, after dinner, we came home and waited on Pam and Joseph to get here. By then, we were too tired to do much of anything (we're getting old. Jared and Joseph watched tv and Pam and I dozed on the couch. Saturday I woke up two different times and was disappointed to see no snow. I mean, if we couldn't have the retreat, then it had better snow! Finally, I woke up to stay up and looked out the window and saw snow! Now, I spent 5 years of my life living in PA and it snowed all the time, but it has been 8 years since I've seen the last AL snow. I ran in to wake up Pam and Joseph and just found Joseph. I then found Pam on the couch. She had been up for awhile, showered, cooked, and fell back to sleep (hey, she had a nap the day before!). We ran to the porch in our pj's and marvelled at the snow. It makes you all giddy and child-like! It's a nice feeling! The sad part was the fact that by the time I got showered and dressed, and Jared, too, the snow was fastly melting! We recreated the snow scene. Joseph climbed the trees in the yard and we would stand under them while the snow fell, and one of us took the pictures. We took the hard snow from the cars and had a snowball fight. The bad part was when the hard snowball hit and didn't bust, it stung, but on the other hand, you could pick it back up and retaliate! We had fun!

I've been tagged (see other blogs for rules because Jared is hollering for me to hurry so we can watch Celebrity Apprentice)!

Weird Facts:
1. Everything MUST match.

2. My closets are also very organized, including Jared's (for details see Hannah's Mommy blog to the right).

3. I Have to have a shower first thing every morning! I even shower before I work in the yard. I NEVER leave the house without showering.

4. I make my bed EVERY morning.

5. Everything has its place and when you use something, you really need to put it back in its place when you are finished with it.

Now that you've decided I'm certifiable, I will go!

More Pictures At The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon, December 23, 2007

After the AM services we headed off thowards the Grand Canyon! It was amazing! The drive was very scenic so that made it easy to drive, despite the lack of sleep! Enjoy!

The Big Day, December 22, 2007

The wedding was beautiful and we all had a wonderful time! The coolest part of the reception was the fact that they had a coffee bar to keep us warm while they took pictures. Now the best looking groomsmen was Jared, by far!

More Pictures of the Great View

Prewedding Fun, Thursday, December 20, 2007

Thursday we woke up early and ran more wedding errands, but also had some fun. Us girls went on a Spencer's run for Randy's bachelor party that night. It was nice to get to visit with Tara-Nel and get to know her some. That night a bunch of guys came over to kidnap Randy and torture him a little, bowl, go out to eat, and he got thrown into a fountain at a shopping center (a Faulkner tradition). While the guys had their fun we went to a HUGE mall and helped Tara-Nel find her wedding jewelry. We even stopped at one of the hundreds of Starbucks in that town. We had a really good time! When we all got back, we stayed up until 4 in the morning reminiscing at laughing our heads off. It was mostly the big Faulkner crowd and I think Tara-Nel enjoyed hearing all the stories about Randy and his friends. Needless to say, we did not sleep much the entire trip!
